couple questions, i am about to order a cat-back system and a cat-converter for my max, i dont think the cat is bad, just thinking about replacing it since im replacing everything else. i am gonna get the warpspeed magnaflow SS cat-back system with the dual tip muffler. that adds HP right??? the price for that is $315 and a cat-converter for $100 plus shipping, is this a good deal, i am low on money, but i need this stuff, plus i want more HP!!!
well that will defintely free up some horses. But like dadsmax said above. It won't release a lot without a good intake to match. Also, what type of ignition system do you have? I hope it's not still stock.
Save your money. The gains you realize will be mostly in your head and not at the wheels. $415 buys a lot of maintenance parts. Save it for that. Trust me on this. I have many miles behind the wheel of a VG auto and I have basically every bolt on there is with the exception of a UDP. It wasn't worth it.

Well it all depends upon the plugs he's running. We all know platinum sucks in our cars. And I've noticed a much smoother idle when I switched out my wires for NGK.
May not have given me any HP... but there was a noticable difference.

Also a nice little note... suspension plays a key role on keeping those horses to the ground. I know, cause I still have the crummy stock struts on...
Next upgrade... Koni's with Eibach

i dunno about my spark plugs, my dad said they kick *** though, (expensive ones) i NEED the exhaust b\c a part of the cat-back has a hole in it, im getting the $315 warpspeed one, mind as well replace the high flow cat too right? ya, why would i have to upgrade the ignition??? what would that do?

$415 for what ~5 horses.... i had every bolt on as well and the way technology is going today a VG auto can't hang with very much even with EVERY bolt on

yup thats the place. im looking to buy the $315 cat-back with the magnaflow SS dual tip muffler, i heard it sounds pretty beastly so im gonna give it a try, just gotta get my parents to put it on their credit card.
eh, I'd just have a new cat back bent at an exhaust shop. substitute a glasspack for the resonator, and get your choice of muffler and cat..
My VG runs fine on bosch plats, has for the past 12 years...
