Update On My Recently Purchased 1990 Nissan Maxima GXE : How Much Should This Cost Me
#1
All Serviced & Installed, Estimating that labor is $50/hr...
-Complete Tune-Up
-2 Injectors
-6 Injector Connectors
-2 CV Boots
-Valve Cover Gaskets
-Coolant Service
-Transmission Service
I finally took my recently purchased 1990 Nissan Maxima to my mechanic for a complete check-up and computer results were positive (no major engine and/or transmission problems), but I have to take care of at least the injectors right away...
That is the list that he made me and he also gave me a good price IMO, but I wanna see what you folks say before I go and do the work.
Also, we are leaving anything that has to do with the timing belt and water pump for last. Reason being is that If I can find out that it was serviced already, then I dont have to do it....yet!
Thanx in advance!

PS: I develop and scan pics of it tonight!

Thats pretty damn close...:)
They gave me a figure of $950.
It could be less since we over estimated a few prices of the parts as far as tune-up items and injectors (injector will come from nissan). Is $950 a good price though? What's your take?

my guess of $1k was just adding up stuff from what I have heard on the board.. $200 for this, $300 for that, etc etc. add it all up and it came up to about 12-1300. then I figured since you were doing it all at once, they'd give you a bit of a break and I said 1000.
so yeah, if you can do it all for 950, that's not bad.
of course you could do it all yourself for about $3-400, but some people just don't have the tools, know-how, and time to do it. that much work will take at least a full weekend, if not more.

Keep in the mind that today is the 7th day I've owned this car and mods (both mechanical and body) will take place soon, but none have been done yet!
