Huge suspension problem
Huge suspension problem
I am in need of the org's wisdom once again.
I am currently TRYING to replace my struts and springs, there is one problem in the way right now. While trying to remove the parallel links I noticed that the nut and the screw rotate at the same time when I am unscrewing the links. I'm afraid bolt and screw is broken somewhere. There is where I need advice at.
Thanks again for your help

I think that would be close to impossible to do if i'm picturing what your saying. It looks like it is rusted on. I got probably about 1/2 in off from origin and then noticed it was easier to unscrew. Then found out the bolt and screw turns at the same time. I hope this makes sense to you guys.

there's about as many maximas here as there are fingers on your hand, 3rd gen anyways.
Yeah hopefully Huskers will do better this season, we got some pretty good recruits coming this fall.

Mizeree your too nice and I appriciate it. Your answer should have said instead, "ummm, dumbass retarded question but you...."
My lights didn't turn on and I didn't put two and two together, but I figured out it was one LONG bolt and I finally got it loose and out. Tomorrow I will bring my strut and have my mechanic shop take out the glandular nut, I think that's what it's called, and have him hopefully take it out. After that smooth sailing. Now I know what everyone is saying about the hardest part of the job
THanks again members for your help

very curious, what are you using to unscrew the dang thing?

And what I did I bolted the wheel back onto the hub and got my wife to stand on the wheel, twisting the nut with the adjusting plyers. That was easy.
And something tells me that you did not have to unbolt the parallel link to remove the strut, but I might be mistaken - it was too long ago...
Don't confuse yourself - reuse old oil. If it's not too late...

Thanks guys, just finished the rear struts and springs. I went to an auto parts store and bought some hydrolic jack oil and used it for the oil bath. It looks runs about the same so hope that'll do the job. I also have been using the 4dsc site and printed the instructions out before the project. There were just some things I wasn't too clear of and didn't find much answer in the instruction guide. That and I there were some things I made more complicated than needed, but all I can say is live and learn.
Tomorrow I will be doing the front, I really hope it is alot ezier as everyone else has been saying.
Thanks again guys for the wisdom and guidance.

LOOK! I hate this bs post crap just to get the post count over 15. If I see you are any other newbie doing this in this forum, I'll personally make it habit to delete ALL your posts everyday.
