Yea, so I finally got my ECU form JimWolfe and put it in! I cant drive the car yet, cause its on a lift with no wheels and lotsa body work gettin done, but MAN!!! IT SOUNDS SWEET!!!! The air suction you can hear when my valves oven up now is crazy! Like a blowoff valve, or more like a BLOW-IN valve, Im ****en stoked to see what she does on the street!

Are we talking about the same car? Nissan Maxima right? VE? I've never noticed and xtra "sucking of air" before, as you describe that it sounded like a BOV or a BIV (blow-off vavle, blow "in" vavle respectively). Are you sure you're not just hearing sounds from your CAI?

 

why... they naturally go hand in hand. Same thing with stickers and your SPL level. I just gained a bunch. Look at my frontier site.

 

Ive often thought my VG sounded kinda like a s/c or t/c whine above 3k rpm, under WOT conditions. And thats a stock VG...^_^. It sounds pretty cool to me, I hope it stays even after I start modding.

Mine actually sounds like an old muscle car. I guess I have to take that video clip one of these days.

edit: the vid clip on tripleGmax's site is kind of close to what my motor will sound like when I floor it.

 

If thats what it is... Its way way way different that anything shes ever sounded like before! Its a really sharp almost like a whistle, but only right when I give the gas pedal a good stepping. Its "audibly pleasing" I guess.

 

I know exactly what you're talkin about. mine does the same thing, and it does sound tight! When I open the throttle more than halfway theres a cross between a whistle and a whoosh right before you hear the enging rev. Sounds good as hell... I noticed when I put in the CAI.

 

My stock sounds awesome when I put "OD off" and throw it in first. Sounds like a muffled roar.

 

that's just a rush of air past the throttle blade to fill the vaccuum in the intake manifold. means you have a loud intake (which is good).
heard this many times tuning carb'd cars with the air cleaner off...

that water pipe sound is only the noise in ur intake... i got that noise since i put in a cone filter on my max, and i'm starting to get sick of it whistling during idle.

damn, am i getting old or what...

 

does it sound like a turbo???
