riddle me this! (cooling system)
i've got a rebuilt motor with just under 11k on it..heater core rotted out..bypassed the heater core. fuel line rotted out, replaced fuel line.
finally drove it today with new battery and new grounds and the AACV is working as it should (finally).
get home and let it idle long enough for the fans to come on (further AACV testing). get out give everything a once over while i'm waiting for it to heat up..notice a green trail flowing down my driveway..yup, coolant.
look under the car and its dripping right out from under the crank pulley.
i know there is no coolant there, and the waterpump is right above it..why in the world is the water pump leaking! is my only option to replace it AGAIN? i replaced it when the motor was rebuilt with a brand new one and they shouldnt have a life span of 11,000 miles or less....could i have screwed something up with i bypassed the heater core? (i dont see how thats possible). could the heatercore have been blocked, therefore backing it up and thus ruining the water pump?
this is really obnoxious.
let me know what you guys think

If its pump - replace. (Oh Boy) This is why I dont believe in swapping all u see during overhaul; might new but get dead spare. But who knows what is the right balance...
I'd test with radiator leak repair gunk - just in case its a seal. But no drive with coolant leak.

if its the pump then yeah replace it and make sure that you seal it up well.........however, if I were you then I would do a coolant system pressure test first just to rule out anything else. Good Luck
