spark plug gapping
spark plug gapping
What is the proper gap range for the 91 gxe max with vg engine and also how do you properly gap a spark plug I just recently bought the ngk copper plugs (BKR6ES-11) from internetautomart(love his prices and fast shipping!!!) and they are gapped at .44 but i have heard that is too big of a gap for the vg type of engine. so any help or advice would be great.

the correct gap is .039 or .038. so you have to gap them down.
hi,
.44 is correct for the vg engine,
look at this site for your engine,

.044 is acceptable, but the FSM says .039 - .043 so I'll go with the FSM, and maybe find a mid number from the recommended range, say .041
and in case you want the torque number, the FSM recommends 14 - 22 ft-lb
