A/C only blows on High

Just finished up my car 60k/connector cleaning/every rubber suspension piece in front/tires/alignment. Now a/c only blows on cold i am figuring blower resistor. But I don't even know where it's at(possibly on blower). If anyone has come across this please let me know. By the way it is an auto climate control. thanks in advance Rawmax1

You can resolder (spelling?) the circuit board or get another hvac unit from a local junkyard for like $30.

Thank you for the info. Part is not that expensive either. under 20bucks my cost at dealer. Will take apart sometime this week. I have to do alignment - Hood/bumper/fender before Friday. Sold my Honda and now commuting with my friend or Girl. That sucks. But you got to do what you got to do. Thanks Wiking.

I have the same problem. so is that picture the picture of the resistor, im a bit lost, i appologoze if it seems oblivious, but its late and my brain is shutting down

My problem is that it when i turn it on using the auto climate controls, i can control it pretty much. but when i press the off button it moves all the air up to the front defrost vents and start blowing on medium or high. The only way to stop it is to pull the two blower fuses. I replaced the auto climate control with one i bought fom another .org member hoping it would fix it but it didnt. help

Why its so cheap? (I bet junkyard is more costly). The poor Nissan pricing chap happened to type in the partname -field: resistor. If the word typed was 'sensor', then system would roll 20x - 40x -price.

And that metal box is so complicate -looking, that "variable climate control adjustment system" -name for the blob would be fitting. Price? 100x....

I went and looked and found out why it's so cheap for me. Since we are a dealership we get a discount off of the list price. The more buisness you do with a dealer the bigger the discount. Most customers who go into a dealership get what you call MATRIX pricing. This is higher than list pricing and it's whatever the Parts dept manager decides to make it. We call it the bump at my dealership. It's funny because the same dealership right down the road sells their parts for less. Sometimes it's best to just order online because you get wholesale pricing

Chris
At least it would be stupid from nissan point of view: fan speeds are controlled via that resistor. Its the same fan/method - be it manual or auto; the control circuit and sensor qty however is somewhat more complicated in auto.

Send mail to craig.

ok i am going to pm craig about it but i went to the dealership today just to "order a part" or get the part number so i can order it online, and i was told my problem is the "amplifier" it is what is used instead of the resitier in automatic CC. is this true? it is about the last thing left for me to try. anyways the part number he gave me was 27761-85E01, oh and its 89.31 dollars, just an FYI, but im sure i can find it somewhere cheaper. Thanks

It may be true, if fan speed is functional only on high, with or without A/C. Check out the A/C inputs to ECU: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=418235 ...and read my updated web page. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/7

I have a slightly different problem, my problem is with my blower motor.

It makes a sound like a tornado when it is blowing the max (4 th speed), it is really bothersome!

(It is not just because it is going fast something is wrong it should not sound this loud!)

If anyone knows how to fix this please post.

Thanks in Advanced guys!

Sometimes I wish I had a tornado in my Stanza...If the noise is abnormal, get new blower; glovebox off, three screws etc... Either bearing worn out, bad brushes, unbalance (squirrel? If so, get squirrel out, he's possibly dizzy by now).

How much do blowers run at stealership?

I am short on money and am trying to fix this problem my self!

I don't think it is a bearing because it doesn't make any sound at all in the other speeds.

The brushes would only affect the voltage/ power getting to the coil in the motor. Rhight?

I am going to look at it today, but I hope there is just a squirrel in there!

Any ideas how to fix the blower without having to purchase a new blower

Thanks guys I apreciate it !

Does it blow ? at other speeds

Must open an inspect if DIY, after that fig out ideas... NO to stealership. Junkyard 10-20$?

Anchor worn, brushes semi-stuck or worn out, bearings: rpm is one factor. No big difference to junkyard turbo. There really is not many bits to go wrong... If u wantit real silent, one goes and gets it balanced.

Btw. Vacuum the A/C squirrel nest mentioned above:

Yes it works fine actually in all 4 speeds but in the 4th speed it still produces lots of air but it makes a lot of noise!

i see your nice pics of the squirrels nest! but Where is the top right photo taken ( where is it taken from looking from where)

I need some more details on how to get to it and how to clean it best!

ohh what does the squirrels nest hinder in the a/c system

Thanks soo much!
