Hey man... the kcidmil.asf clip isn't working right. So go ahead and delete it. The exhaust02 has a better clip of my Ravin.

Btw, Magnaflow doesn't sound too bad. You need to get an outside clip to get the full effect.

edit: They should just make this a sound clip thread. "You wanna hear what our cars sound like with a certain muffler, check here"

So far we have (what else can we get)

Ractiv
Ravin
Magnaflow

what do your guys hear in the cabin, does it drone on and become annoying, or does it get drowned out when you are on the highway, just curious i don't want to have a pounding headache everytime i go out for a drive. thanks

With my magnaflow it depends at which rpm you are. If I'm barely tapping the gas at 2500 rpm going through town it can drone a little. Highway I don't even notice. Also I have a WSP Y so that increased the drone a little. Even with the Y/magnaflow combo I can still hear my intake if that tells you anything.

So basically in town it can drone a bit. Highway, no.

it drones A LOT below 2500 rpm. above that (roughly above 70 mph) the drone goes away. hope you like your car loud.

the pricing is all over the board depending upon what style you want.
pick a part # and shoot me an IM/PM/E-mail and I'll shoot you back a price.

The Ravin is really nice when it comes to that. There's no real annoying drone. There is a deep rumble when I"m doing about 55, about 60 it falls aways.

And the tone will last up to around 3200 rpm. But I understand the drone issue well enough. I used to have a Protege 5 with a Matrix muffler. OMFG, I wanted to shoot myself when I went on long drives

The Ractiv definitely has a drone on the highway, am getting used to it. In town it sounds great.

well you can get an adaptor that takes your pipes and puts them together and hold them together with holding bolts(or whatever they are called). or you can have a shop do it for like 20-40 bucks. and to save you even more money you could buy my muffler.

How could he save money that way? By giving you a swift kick and taking the exaust? lol j/p

While Im here, I might as well ask would my 3yr old ypipe off my wrecked car be bent too much to bend back and use on my new max. The wrecked cars engines ac pully is about 1/4 in from the frame rail, and the front/center engine mount is cracked and the whole engine is leaning to the passengers side. Its got some dents but Im sure its fine. I really just need to start unbolting that stuff and see for myself.Any way what do u pros think?

deep tone

Which of the aftermarket mufflers has the deepest tone? I know this stuff's subjective, but I don't want my '89 SE ending up sounding like a Honda fart-can.

Well Magnaflow or Flowmaster are going to be your best bet. Ravin went out of business

And I was getting ready to do a dual exhaust on my truck too.

I just installed the Magnaflow Street Series 3.5" Dual Muffler.
This takes some getting used to over stock. There is noticeable drone in the 0 to 2500rpm range. I love the sound at idle and once it gets up to speed, but I'm not sold on the sound when traffic is stop and go. But dayum this thing looks downright sexy!! The car was dead cold when I first started revving, so excuse the (cough) smoke. I actually don't burn oil.

Enjoy the movie.

Here's a pic on the car (MagnaFlow Street Series Dual #14816)

Thanks for the kudos. I'm actually getting a little more used to it now after my 3rd day driving around with it -- but the jury is still out.
One thing I do like about it is, people know I'm coming.

donno if this is ur sorta thing, but here is a sound clip of my VG revved all the way up to 7000rpm.

before u start the flames, i have a hacked ECU that allows me to rev to 7000rpm...

the 3rd rev was from idle to 7000rpm..
near the end u can hear it revved to 6000rpm a few times. and u can hear the back firing pop out of the muffler when i let off.
