quick simple fog light question for yall

So a while ago I broke one of my fog lights, so i decided to replace both of them with piaa 1700X's that I bought on ebay. I already tried them out with a wiring harness that I purchased and know they work, but after thinking about it....I returned the wiring kit as I came up with an elaborate plan to go around putting a new wiring kit and a switch through the firewall. My idea is that since the piaa's and the stock fogs on the 1991 se have the same wattage (35) and voltage, to cut off the weird Piaa plugs, and take the plugs from my old stock fogs and attach them to the piaas so I can just plug them in and be ready to go, and not have to cut through the firewall.

So far my idea is going alright, i've drilled the holes and cut off the wires, the only problem is getting the positive and negative sides lined up because both wires coming out of the piaa's are black. A test I came up with was to just run a circuit through a C battery and see which way works and which way doesn't. Now that I've tried it, i've come across a prediciment. BOTH WAYS CREATE LIGHT. Does it matter which way i hook up the wires to the plug or will both ways work? thanks.

i don't c y it wouldn't matter connectin' either wire to + or -. the way i did it on my '93 is just cut off the plugs off my eurolite fogs and wire up the stock harness from the stock fogs and just plug them in without runnin' more cables and drillin' holes and puttin' another useless switch inside my car and it works just fine. but u can ask Craig Brace for his opinion or others on here.

when i did my fogs, i left all the old wiring, used the old plugs, and just cut and re-soldered the connectors to the fog to the plug, so i am still using the stock switch, works great.

I am planning on doing this, too. I bought a spare set of broken fogs a while ago and I was just going to mount something aftermarket to the brackets, that way I can easily swap between stock and aftermarket. I have just been busy with other stuff, so it will have to wait.

it really wanst hard, it just was time-consuming. i had to basically re-make a new way to hang the fog light, look at pics---->

i still gotta paint the screws black. yes, yes, the right light is a little "off" i took the back off the stock ones, driled thorugh acouple parts to get a oeice off the stock light, then driled to that, kinda hard to explain.

Ummmm.... drivers side is all cocked off. Porportions look funky too, not bad at all as lights, just wouldn't want to see it with the sun up, know what I mean?? Oh .. a white light wouldn't be a "fog light" white light + fog = BAD. Driving light white, yeller light fog. Really, tho cool but not my taste.

I took off my fog lights the other day that the previose owner installed. They look alot like the stock SE foggers but a little bigger. Had "Hella" imprinted in big letters on the back, and takes 50 watt bulbs. Anybody know if these are good?

The real question would be, do you like them? Hella makes good stuff, but the housing and the lens are only X amount, the bulbs are where you seperate the stock from the, "Oh damn that's bright!"
