Putting VQ engine in 92 SE??

Anyone -

Is it possible to put a 3.0 liter VQ engine/tranny (4th gen engine, if memory serves) in a 92 SE?? My VE30DE is dying (slowly), and I thought it would be awesome if I could somehow get a VQ engine and tranny in the old beast, which would make it a bit of a sleeper... I thought about replacing the VE w/ a JDM VE, but the thought of VTC clatter looming in the future is too much to bear!! Would love to hear from anyone that may have pulled off this feat or have any thoughts on same.....

Mike

I think it has been done once, but there is no write up, and your chances are much better of just dealing with the VTCs... because if you are worried about the trouble of the VTC's then you will have alot of worries putting in a different engine.

Besides, the VQ has the exact same horsepower rating with only 15 more ft/lbs of torque. Its a lot lighter too, but the VE has that oh so nice variable timing which makes it more fun to drive anyway.

teh VQ3.5 has a few more hp than the VE/VQ3.0

i say if you got the money to do that, then save it and buy a 5.5gen. just my opinion
