help with trunk lid

i switched my se lid with a spoiler to a gxe one without. now when i pop the trunk it flies up and slams a little rather than just opening and staying down like my old one did. Is there a way to adjust the spring so when i pop it it just opens and stays down rather than shooting up?

change the tension rods, or add ballast to the trunk lid

ballast is easy to hide, just put it behind the carpet

bah just use hood struts and make it open nice and slow but still fully.

I got the idea from Matt and he helped me pick out the struts.

here is a link to all the info you will need including a video of the trunk opening (with alarm trunk pop).

mine was a gxe, plus i have enough weight on it to keep it down. the tension rods are a pain to change because you're fighting the spring getting it in. not impossible, but a pain. just put some sort of weight in the trunk, doesnt have to be much. make sure it's glued down. spray foan does a good job of securing stuff

do you think a can of spray foam is heavy enough. there was a pretty big difference in weight between the 2 trunks. any ideas on weights, couldnt really think of anything small enough to fit into that space

i meant to hold something down. as ghetto as it may sound, go to a bait and tackle store and just buy some weights. then when you have the right ammt in there, spray foam them in. ghetto, but effective
