My 94 Maxima is sluggish and shaking at 45 MPH and 1500 RPM

94 maxima GXE, auto, 166000 mile.
My Maxima tends to be sluggish and starts to shake at 45 MPH and 1500 RPM. This is more obvious when going uphilll. At above 2000 RPM, my car runs great.
I replaced the spark plugs and transimission fluid recently because of this problem. The tranny was rebuilt at 137000, all the 6 injectors are working well. The distributor cap was replaced about 2 years before, but the timing was not checked. The knock sensor and O2 sensor are not replaced since I bought this car at 10700. Also, it appears that the (vacuum) tubes on the engiene are kind of loosening, they can be moved easily.
I tried to search the forum for this problem, but I couldnot find the answer to it. There are so many possible causes for the sluggish driving. Does anyone know about this specific case? I am going to work on my car tomorrow, your help is appreciated.

Do check your ignition timing. It can make a world of difference if it's set too retarded, then the car will feel sluggish. I assume you changed the distributor rotor with the cap. If not, replace it, it's cheap.

If the vacuum tubes are loosening...then y don't you replace them? Its not hard and you can usually find kits of silicone hose in various sizes.

Multiple causes = one answer not possible.

Go through all of these, after that no need to ask, clic on: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/1

=cap, rotor, scrap soothoses, plugs, connectors cleanup (16hrs), groundings,
all airleaks =hoses have to be repaired AND so on.

Forget one nuance = keep on stuttering - here most want to own ol' civic...

I found that the TPS connector is rusty. After I cleaned it up, the problem seems disappeared. I will test drive more to confirm this.
