weird sounds

while getting on an exit ramp off the highway, I let go off the gas pedal so the car slows down. I keep hearing this "rup rup rup rup ..." noises from the engine bay. this one just occurred about 2months ago. anyone know what in the world is it? I am very positive it's not wheel bearing cuz wheeling bearing/ bad hub makes continuous noises at all speeds. but my case, I am only hearing noises while letting go off the gas pedal while getting off the highway. I don't hear this noises at all on the regular road. please help..... what could've went wrong? the car rides great.

Check your shrouds maybe? I had one that was loose and only heard it at certain points. Is there a barrier or walls where you get off the interstate? That would allow you to hear noises easier.

no, that's a great idea but there is no walls along any of the hw exits here. how does the shroud looks like, where is it located?

there's a 4 piece shroud around the engine. 2 bottom pieces, and 2 side pieces. These are the plastic pieces that protect the engine from debris.
