Power steering lag

Now I have my NEW 'Thule-Wiki' roll bar, GTDIY modello. Went testing in the rain: yes, chassis seems more rigid now.

But surprise: steering had real bad lag: sverving left ok. Immediate turn right had no power boost, like dead. Every second (left or right) turn did behave like no boost at all. Seemed like pump capacity had been halved. It seemed to get better by the exercise. (Actually I have never before done such slalom exercise with max, cold engine, so I dont know if this is the Max-way. Now 85k... )

Question: this lag is indication of smtg. What is u guess?

Time to top up the fluid? Any leaks?

No done any checkups yet, just built/installed my new 45minute rollbar an came home, bedtime here. So far its been ok, belts under 7k, should be tight... surprise to me. I pamper it much more than I drive, no oil spots anywhere. (Very humid 100% weather after 4weeks of hot and dry...) My stanza steering never behaves like on/off; in winter its was constant hard all the time until warmup.

Your new roll bar might be hitting/binding something on your steering.

Mine does that too, and everything is completely stock. Planning to flush the system to see if it gets better. But I have to turn the wheel back and forth really really fast for this to happen.

It does? I never drive like that, was just testing. Still this would cause a surprise to a ditch if there was a dire need to pass obstacles.

Edit: Maybe its just a feature... everythin seems to be ok; belt, fluid level.... But here attached is the reason for the tst, 75c Thule DIY (local IKEA) swaybar...

Edit2: After warmup, highway, no steering problem. And the swaybar is Great... Really worth each cent!
