Tranny Repair, need advice/opinion

Ok, just picked up a new max on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4564149741&sspa gename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT

Obviously needs a tranny. Now I bought it to fix up, but I will probably end up selling it as Max's sell for a lot around here for some reason. My options are:

1. Pull the auto one in their, bring it to a shop and have it rebuilt
2. Go to U-Wrench-It, buy the one off of the 90 they have ($59.95, also auto) And install it, if it doesnt work, money back guarentee.
3. Take the 5speed out of my 90SE and do a GXE 5speed swap.

I haven't even got price quotes yet. I was thinking to try to U-Wrench-It method, but I don't know how I would test it, and it would be kind of a hassle to get it out of the one at UWI, put it in mine, find out its shot, and pull it back out and bring it back.

So what should I do?

Thanks in advance!

damn $60 is pretty cheap for an auto tranny with warranty. Around here they go for $150, and you have to pull it yourself. Id go for the $60 tranny and hope it works. smell the fluid, and if it smells burnt, I wouldnt waste my time with it (even though it could just be needing an ATF drain&fill)

If you deem the tranny bad by smelling the fluid you are crazy
My cars tranny had brown slightly burnt smelling fluid in it when i first got it but i had it flushed and then changed the fluid!

My tranny shifts a hair rough into 2nd but other than that every shift is smooth as silk!

I hope it lasts me (I hope when I need a tranny i can get one for 59.99)
