dont have any pics but it works good. removes contaminents, scuffs, slight scratches. its more to remove contaminants than to make your car shiny. use polish and glaze for that.

From my experience with a clay bar, you feel the difference more than see it. It helps in making the car look shinier - with a good polish and wax - but it doesn't do it by itself. If you go to the detailing forum or to Autopia, you might find more info regarding clay bars.

i think some one on ther org already did a write up about these they are great for removing brake dust biuld-up or little shards of metal from your paint it makes a huge differance in the feel of your car and really smoothes your car out so when you wax it the wax can leave it with that ultra shine and clean smooth glistenning showroom floor clean look

im not sure what kit you got but mine came with a detail spray (used as lubricant) and wax. clay first, then polish, and finally seal/wax

these things are the best!
i had door dings with red paint that i couldnt get out without the clay bar i had tar, goo, tree sap, poop and other stuff on my car, the clay bar did great at removing all those imperfections. You will notice how much your paint feels like glass afterwards.

i washed the car with microfiber mit, then let it dry and use the clay bar and detailer on the whole car, then wax it meguiars nxt tech wax(which is really easy to take off).

after:

see what i mean by glass?

i just did it yesterday for the first time, like everybody said not really visible by itself but when you wax it it looks sweet, and it feels so smooth its ridiculus. heres a clip of everything you'll need to know http://www.adamspolishes.com/videos/clay_bar.cfm

I know it's hard to scroll down past the 3rd gen section, but did you guys know there is a detailing section?

I think there are some reviews of different clay bars in the stickies there, too.

Using a clay bar is an excellent step in paint prep and I would never polish/seal/wax before claying the paint. It does a great job in removing embedded contanmenaints (sp) and leaves the paint smooth as glass.

here's a pic after a detail i did about a week ago with claying in the process:

yup...just need to follow up with a prewax cleaner and/or glaze/light compound stuff. maybe they changed their clay compound or something.

you should do that anyway...but with the meg and the white residue...you just have to look for it and work the cleaner in.

my preferred clay brand is mother's.

I went up to Chicago to pick up my new car from my sister...it had been through two northern winters and I expected some problems with the paint, but overall it was in good condition. I got it home and went off to the car wash for a full 5 hr. detail job. After the clay bar you could tell an immediate difference in the radiance of the paint. I mean, it was phenominal. Then after two coats of NXT it was good as new. I usually do a prewash and dry, clay with Meguairs Quick Detailer for lubrication, a post wash, and then 2 coats of NXT. I was on my fourth use of my clay bar, I had used it on my 95 C 280 for the first time it was ever clayed and it didn't look too bad after that job, one more time on the 95, and then again on my friend's mom's 2001 GS 300 (frist time it was ever clayed too), but after this fourth time on this 99 C 280, I had to throw it out. Every stroke came up with the nastiest stuff on it. Bottom line: I love clay bars and think everyone who wants their paint to look its best should use it about every 6 mos. to a year. I reccomend the Zaino Brothers clay bar. Comes with two in it and you can use them up to four times or more if you don't drop it and the car(s) you use it on aren't heavily soiled. Definitely worth every penny of the $27 I spent on it.
