i need your opinions please!!!

the thing is i have a 92 nissan maxima se black with all the options except for leather which i dont care for at all.the only problem is that the thing is automatic and i really want a 5spd. If i plan to keep my car i would also have to paint the front end cause of an accident that i had about a year ago. my question to you guys is that should i sell my automatic and buy a 5spd or just keep my automatic and do a 5 spd swap in which i also want to buy a jdm ve30de and get it fitted. what do you guys out there think is more economical, to do 5spd swap and jdm motor or just sell my auto and buy a 5spd then do the motor. given that i dont have the technical know how or the resources to do the swap myself so i would have to pay to get it done.
thanks for any input or suggestions.

If you want to swap both, just sell it and get a 92-94 se. That will have the VE and just get one with a 5 speed. Then if you get a auto VE swap that, as trannys are easier to swap then engines. Im about to do a 5 speed swap on my 90 se, i just picked up a cheap 89 se manual, and the rest of the car is shot. The engine just blew a head gasket.

Its alot easier to do a 5 speed swap when you have a whole car to get parts from. just read around the fourms

If you don't have the know-how, the decision is easy: Find another 5-speed. If you do, at least you might be able to get away with not painting it either, and just do the JDM swap. I don't know how far you are from Houston, but if you need someone to do the swap for a fair price and experience, Matt93se might consider tackling the job.

if the front needs paint bad, then paint it and sell it and get a 5spd. otherwise just sell that and get a 5speed...seems to be the easiest option to me....

yeah just sell it and put your money into a nicer, newer gxe that already has the ve30de and 5spd transmission. if you put in what you hypothetically would spend on an engine and transmission swap and paintjob in a new car instead, you'd get a hell of a nicer car with much lower milage.

GXE doesn't come DOHC or 5 speed

Doing a 5-speed swap is a lot of work and, unless you get very lucky, the tranny and other parts will cost you quite a bit, maybe $600-$1k.

Besides, an AT is actually worth more than a 5-speed, at least if you sell it through autotrader, etc.

Obviously, my vote goes for selling your AT and buying a 5-speed car.
