Well crap. I can't get the driver's door open.

I went to get in the car (92 GXE) yesterday but it wouldn't open from the driver's side door. Moving the power locks and pulling on the door lock yielded no results. What's the easiest way to pop open the door while it is closed? What parts am I looking for to have been broken?

It sucks when your beater is less reliable than your fun car.

can you open it from the inside? I would try that and spray a little lube over the lock mechanism to see if that helps first.

I had the same thing happen to me on my 91 SE. What I did was get inside from passenger side and carefully remove the plastic panel between front and rear door which makes it easier for the door panel to come off. Then I removed door panel and reached inside and just moved whatever rods/levers I could feel and it finally opened. It happened again after this and my dad just pushed down really hard on the door lock, then pulled it up and it opened......

Thanks guys! I was able to remove the handle and the switch bezel. While removing the bezel, I must've freed the linkage where it was bound, as the door popped right open. I had pulled the panel off previously to disconnect the speaker (****ty Bose system ) that had the amplifier **** itself.

I rerouted all speakers around the amplifiers, and am pleased that I can listen to my music at a more controlled volume. I also got the door panel back in place, properly this time. I knew I had kind messed it up a little bit before but it hadn't given me any troubles before yesterday.

Next stop: a trip back to Ohio so I can get this exhaust fixed. It sounds HORRIBLE. I will also be replacing a whining wheel bearing. Wish me luck!
