Well my 93 SE has so ugly sawblade wheels. The clearcoat is pealing all over, and it looks terrible. Plus I am not a huge fan of the design. My new GXE has great looking wheels. There not as shiny as the SE wheels, but they look great. would it be weird to stick GXE wheels on an SE? I really prefer the style on the GXE, but I just don't know about it. What do you guys think?

 

I think you should do whatever makes you happy. No one other than a Maxima freak would notice, and I personally like the look of the GXE wheels myself.

Iv'e alway's liked the GXE wheels. If given the choice I would go with the GXE. I currently have the SE rims and they tend to remind me of the old pontiac rims which I never cared for(Loved the car, not those rims). Although I tend to be 'for-stock', I do make an exception.

I like my wheels(mainly because they're stock(and can't afford non-stock purchase)). If I had both sets to choose from.......GXE. Just my $.02

 

Depends on what you want also for tire size and such as the SE rims are 6.5" wide and the gxe wheels are 6" wide so you loose a little width but possibly also lose a little rotational mass (possibly i dont knwo the weight sof both wheels)

Other then that it is your call,personnaly I like the 4th gen sawblades ebtter then eiother the SE or GXE wheels.

 

Go with the Gxe wheels

 

GXE looks better, but just doesn't feel right putting on an SE. If you like GXE better, go for it.

Just flip a coin. Heads it's SE wheels, tails it's GXE wheels.

Or whichever you like better.

 

I always liked the GXE wheels better. But like yours my clearcoat is peeling as well, and I have the GXEs. I think it's from all the cleaning I do with Lacquer thinner that started getting to it. I would prefer non stock rims for either model, but if choosing between SE or GXE, definitely go with the latter if your choice is based on appearance alone.

 

or buy aftermarket rims

 

just get some traklites and be done with it

Kinda funny, I always thought the SE wheels fit the 3rd gen's lines better.

I think the 5th gen SE rims look great on our 3rd gens.

 

I like the GXE wheels, I have the OEM SE wheels right now and I think they're ugly as hell. I don't think they have any style to them at all. But if we all listened to what each other thought about our cars we'd all end up having the same cars! So do whatever you want. It's your choice

 

i used probe gt wheels, then painted them black. not too bad.
