Shifting at high RPM

Shifting at high RPM

What kind of problem would cause an AT to shift at 4500 to 5000+ rpm?
BTW, its got fluid - i just checked them.

Do you have the A/T Switch set to Power? On the "Power" setting it revs much higher than usual.

Define:
- speed?
- gear?
- up -or- downshift?

First thing to check: what is your charge voltage when u have that problem?

i think i have to make this a bit clearly.

tranny seems hesitating to upshift between 3rd and 4th...and if it does, rpm is usually around 4500 to 5k.

doe sit only do it between 3 and 4? any throttle setting? sounds like it could be a shift solenoid.
