I wired up my harness to my aftermarket head unit, and put installed it in my 93 Maxima. When I plugged in the harness into the head unit, the power antenna went up, but the unit won't turn on. I checked the harness and I wired it up properly, but I noticed that there are a few wires that come out of the factory side of the harness at different spots than the one I bought. Does anyone have the wiring codes for the non-bose (clarion) system? I can't figure it out!

check the wiring info.zip file on my faq page.. it might be in there.

http://www.ee.utulsa.edu/~mblehm/faq/

also look at the rear amp bypass.txt file. if you install an aftermarket head unit in your car, you'll need that info too.

Also, check the ground connection on the wiring harness.. if you used an adaptor harness kit, the ground is non-existant on the car side of the harness.. you need to run a seperate ground for the new head unit.

hope that helps. good luck.

I haven't gotten the adapter yet, but I just assumed that the cd player would work without the antenna attatched.

Well, I installed it, and it works. Only problem is, the rear speakers don't work! Do I need to bypass an amp back there? I've got the non-bose system, so not many people know what to do.
