What to use for winter wheels

Hi everyone,

Yeah - I know it's still August and all, but winter is coming. What do you use for winter wheels? I'd like to take the stock SE alloy wheels off and use some steel wheels when the salt and snow and junk is on the road...

thx

I used to use my stock wheels w/ snow tires in the winter.....I have aftermarket wheels for the spring/summer. Buy a second set of stock wheels, no need to stoop to ugly steelies.

I'm going to be buying a set of 17" wheels here soon. That's going to make 3 sets or rims

Stock- winter tire
15" Motegis - traveling
17"- Local area

get some GXE wheels from a junkyard. The 6" tire width will be better in the snow, and they look good on the car still.

Get some nice aftermarket 16 or 17's for spring, summer and fall and use the stockers for winter. It will give you something to look forward to.

I have a set of steelies with snow tires mounted on them.

I say just use whatever you can find cheapest at a junkyard. If they happen to have four GXE or SE wheels cheap, buy them. Steelies at a tire store tend to be expensive, too.

Mizeree, what wheels do you run in the winter with the cobra brakes? I need to find a set of something to fit mine, otherwise I might just be putting winter tires on my mustang wheels.
