You gotta be kidding right? There are just about enough 3rd&4th gen "Maximas" here in NY to rival the number of Town Cars or Crown Vic Taxis in the city.

evidence that there's not a lot of 3rd gens around is the amount of 3rd gens on autotrader listings and the amount on ebay. I see 3rd gens everyday, but I see prolly a thousand cars on my commute to work also. If I were to pull a number out of my butt, I would say only 20-30% of the 3rd gens manufactured are still on the road.

I'm not trying to *hit on 3rd gens here. I think they were the best-looking max, just stating reality. There's starting to be a lot less 4th gens as well. The age of all cars on the road resemble a bell curve with the bulk of the cars being 1-5 years old. 3rd gens go back to 1990???

If they owned a Maxima, I'm sure they would have taken more than just the wheels.

What goes around comes around. One day the person or persons that did this will end up in jail and be someone's biatch.

Probably not. Statements like yours are what weak minded people say so that they can vainly assign some sort of meaning to meaningless events. It helps them deal with the unfairness of life and the randomness of events. Examples of this behavior can also be seen in the statements "Good things happen to good people, bad things happen to bad people" and the classic "Karma blah blah blah." Unfortunately, bad things happen to good people all the time for no reason at all. So buck up and face reality. Jeff just got screwed. And the guys who did it will probably never be caught.

Hey perv, it looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Looks like you're asking for a flame war.

I don't think this was a meaningless event. Ask Jeff and see if he thinks it's a meaningless and random event. Steal a car once and you might not get caught. Continue to steal cars, one day you will be caught and go to jail and become someone's biatch.

I am glad that your opinions give you comfort and help you believe that if, for some reason, your car is stolen, the people who stole it will pay. Good luck with that.

Yeah, I would say that they get caught about five percent of the time, and then they might get probation and go back at it. The only way that the kid who stole my twelve hundred dollar system is going to "pay" is for me to curb-check him....

Cops are too busy writing speeding tickets instead of going after petty things like car theft, rape, and murder. Oh, and going after car theft, rape, and murder is not "profitable."

I know there are a few 3 gen locals on this board. Let me know if you see it around. Or the parts. Not many running the Z track editions or especially the polished Z calipers. Not too sure who would want the maxima perse. But a Nissan freak might want the wheels and calipers for a 5 lug. ie.. 240sx kid.

Trying to work something out with the ins/bodyshop. ie.. finding a set of used wheels, allowing the use of used parts etc... I might have a line on another set of track editions and/or some 350z tourings.

Well the tow truck dented the rockers from it being dragged up the flatbed and dropped 3 times. And there is some damage that was done Might as well get it all done now. I'm trying to work with the insurance company by researching used wheels and body parts. Should be ALOT cheaper in the end for them.

I was just going to ask him if the rims are staggered or if he has four of the same (two fronts or two rears). I guess I'll wait for Jeff.

I have a feeling that guy is legit though. He has been a member for a long time and I think he has a lot of time and money in his car, so I don't think he is some punk kid out to make a quick buck.

I use that forum fairly often, so it wouldn't be that out of line.

If you read this Jeff, send me a PM on this site before I do anything

Damn Jeff, that sucks to hear. I dont check in here much and when I do I find this. Sad to see this kind of stuff going on. What goes around comes around. I am sure those wheels will make it on to some other Nissan OTHER than a Z.

This type of stuff is what scares me, everyone says not to worry cause nobody wants to steal an old car, but...

Did you have wheel locks on? I still run wheel locks. All the tire shops tell me not to and say they will still the whole car. But even if they do, they are going to have a hell of a time getting them off. I lost the key to one a while ago and with all the tools in my garage I could not get them off, I was able to get one! and that was all.

Theres like a million of these wheels out there. Why would you guys even consider them being his/how would you prove it? Unless you got any particular marks you can identify them with, theres really no proof.
