Intake Manifold Bolt Question

I have done a lot of reading and I still cant find the answer to my question. Maybe someone here who has replaced their manifold or injectors may know the answer to this question.

I have a 1992 maxima that just had an injector go bad. My upper manifold is secured with Torx bolts. I tried a T-40 but it seems to be a lose fit. I don't have a t-45 so im not sure of the exact size Torx I need. Can anyone tell me what size Torx I need.

Thanks

Carl.

They aren't Torx heads, they are Hex (Allen) heads. I think they are 6 or 7mm.

I also suggest buying the hex [allen] tools in the form of a socket...The intake manifold bolts are extremely tight in some cases...So you need to be able to get a lot of torque on then to loosen'um up .......

Yep yep. I have found that having the same "tool" in various forms is never a bad idea, and will ALWAYS make you glad you did.

might want to tap the tool in with a small hammer, to make sure it's fully seated....that way less chance of stripping the inside of the bolt.

Agreed. One of mine did that, but it was on the out side so I ground it off. But its is 6mm allen/hex head. I have 3 sockets and 1 screw driver so I cant loose it as most hardware stores close to me carry it off and on.
