E-brake

I changed the rear brake pads today, after i did it the e-brake doesnt seem to be catching as much. Is there a way to adjust this with out tearing apart the whole drum assembly again?

If the [drum??] rotor surface was not resurfaced and still with grooves, takes time [actually not time but some hard braking] to pads wear down to 'fit the surface'.

Wires not rusty?

drums? you might want to adjust the star wheel adjuster to get the shoes as close to the drum as possible without them dragging, if that doesnt help, theres an ebrake adjustment nut under the center console/armrest

im pretty sure all the 3rd gens either drum or disc have a self adjusting e-brake so just pull it up and down a bunch of times and it should adjust it self

I guess the maxima isn't like GM cars, where you adjust by going in reverse and hitting the brakes?

Most drums like nissan have got the self adj screw: after shoes wear off, theyll ratchet one step nearer w/o any special driver action.

ok, the screw, is it attatched to the hand brake, under it, or what??? and is it clockwise or counter-clockwise that you turn it....i was thinking that the hand brake was like a ratchet, drive backwards and pull hand brake repeatedly to tighten..got any pics of that screw wiking, or anyone???
