WOW $650 after shipping! I was only thinking about a CF hood because I thought it might be cheaper than having a dent taken out of it and repainted. guess I was wrong.

Yeah you can get CF hoods on ebay for $200 plus shipping. its going to cost me like $700 to get the hood painted and a very small dent taken out.

Some guy was getting the trunk made with the centerpiece shaved, but i never could get in on the "group deal". Kinda glad too cuz they dont look that great to me. Hood or trunk, thats just my preference tho.

I am half/half on the look.. A nice high quality hood on certain color cars (black or maybe red like n34jz) but this one seems to have to have hood pins so I ma not huge on hood pins since it takes away the "clean" look of it.. plus for 600 american plus shipping (be well over $1000 canadian shipped to me) I can find alot better ways o spend that money

well for an extra $50 I can just go with what I really like and thats paint not CF. I was thinking I could save a few $100's but $50 isnt worth it at all.

$700 for paint and dent? Wow... I have another Maxima that I got very cheap because it was in a minor front end collision. I sent it to the body shop with a used bumper cover that needed to be painted. It needed a hood and a fender and of course paint.

They got a new (not used, but still aftermarket) hood and fender, painted the 3 pieces, did 99% of the install work (I finished the corner and bumper lights) and handed me a bill for $950.

My family has used this shop for years, but I didn't think we were getting any kind of special pricing. I just walk in and tell them what I need and they give me a price.

$700 sounds waaayyyyyy high.

I dunno, bro.... I'm calling on this one. Unless you're getting it locally from someone that already has one, I have YET to see one (at least for a 3rd gen) for less than $400. And THAT is with the seller being generous on the shipping charges.

But if you DID see one for $200 + shipping, you'd best grab it PRONTO!!

He is probably just talking about CF hoods in general, not for 3rd gens. I think for Hondas and Acuras you can find them much cheaper. The problem with our cars is they are not very common to mod, therefore only a handful of places will make the hoods. They are not mass-produced and they are expensive.

Cliff Clavin war correct. I was not talking about a CF hood for a 3rd gen for $200 I was talking about like a civic or neon or something like that. I guess it is cheaper for them because there are a lot more civic owners wanting a CF hood than there are maxima owners. most people dont think about modding a maxima I guess.
