Not sure if the VQ can do it, but very possible with a turbo charged VG.

my friend took out his AC unit and his spare tires, back sets , speakers . but i dont know how much that would change the weight.

 

Yeah, I have everything AC off of my car except the control unit above the cd player. It does add up. Pick up an AC compressor; those things are heavy. Before I realized that my car was slow and it wasn't worth it, I was rolling around town w/o carpet, and only one seat; it was freaking loud. Got me some third gear chirp out of it though.

 

Depending on what car he removed it from, it's possible to shave a tenth of a second in the 1/4 mile by removing that stuff. That is assuming the AC system is 30 lbs, spare tire is 30lbs, back seat is 25lbs, and speakers are 10lbs. That is an easy 85 lbs right there. That would make a slight difference in the 1/4 mile.

 

I won't know what a 3rd gear chirp is like in my automatic until I'm pushing at least another 100 hp. Which hopefully, is soon to come.
