Do the starter wires that go into the fusebox.

i've thought about doing the fuel pump, its not something some punk is going to think to check in a hurry. and it seems easy to set up.

Sometimes even the brainless can figure out the ba-sicks, hotwire, start car with screwdriver...

1. Install killer sw to TPS zero pos sw. Then the car starts, idles, but u cannot drive... dies when pedal pushed.

2. temp sw to exhaust: after engine startup, 1 min warmup, kills engine

3. figure out to retard ign 30 degrees. Get explodin alarms when he tries to start...

4. use extra relays for A/T solenoids; no gears

5. Brake pedal sw: push once and blow extra fuse to relay installed to ECU supply. (Wouldnt it be nice to sit in a stolen car which dies after quart mile in middle of next street light...)

Goal: The brainless thinks: "this car sucks, I am lazy, not gonna repair...

blow your input shaft bearing so you get metal pieces shorting out the position switch which blows the eng. cont. fuse when you attempt to put the car in gear. worked great on my car

tell me you're joking right?
don't you think you're a bit over the top for a car that's over 10 yrs old? why not just wire in some C4 and when the guy triggers something it'll blow up?

Nope. Cannot see how age is connected into 1$ wiring. Maybe if u install 100$ alarm system. And I am mean: just dont want to give socialist pampereds trouble free ride. Besides, C4 might ruin my seat?

Surely u have to be careful: if the crook complains some psychological ailment afterwards, u sit in jail, ...so dont tell the cops. (gets nightmares of a car stopping in traffick lights?)

How about I rig it so it won't start in the 1st place? I'd rather not have them abandon the car in the middle of the street.

ok so from all that BS you're going to wire up...a flatbed tow truck would by pass all of that.

no matter what...if they want it..they'll get it. all you're doing is slowing them down.

with all that wiring job what are the chances something going wrong when you drive the car normally? if the wiring somehow gets shorted...or somehow water hits it..then what? your car won't start? you notice why people use starter kill more often then fuel pump? because if the fuel pump kill circuit all of the sudden decides to trigger while you're driving..then your car will stall and that usually happens at the worse moments.

Thats enough for braindead crooks. Some halfways are able to hotwire ign, as already said, and starter runs when u hit solenoid poles with a screwdriver. The very first tingie is the blinkig red led: flashes inside any dummys head, causing him/her to go to next car...

Now if half brain dead hotwires, steals u car anyways? He will abandon it if it dies... Or abandons the project altogether if engine only backfires, stutters seems like broken and cannot propel the car.

U may use any combination on almost any feature on the engine, its really cheap, no big trouble to install. But as said, it has to be easy to use, one hidden sw. Make a 'concert' to him, and have fun thinking about the crooks mind

What does using a screwdriver in the ign or hot wire at the ign switch going to do when the kill switch or whatever is not connected to that part or is way down the line??

What if he abandons it in the middle of the street and a truck decides to ram into it and total it. Yeah great!

best one:
ECU fuse, just pull it (or ECU relay)

or put the switch in the injector driver output, kill the power to the injectors.

pick a wire off the ECU and put a switch in there(use a wire that the car actually needs to run)

MY FSM is packed away or I'd find a wire to suggest

Very True. (Hey guys, how come all of a sudden all those trucks come into view? Howabout a TANK rolling on u car in the parking lot... nothin to do with the problem setting.)

But q was: "Something easy to flip from inside the car. But hidden".; what I mentioned are real easy, cheap, AND hidden.

Max is full of mechanisms, wiring, complicators, relays etc which will cause engine to die w/o warning. Reliability on one relay, cutting engine off, is no worse than one enabling it... If ppl knew how scary shaky the original car electronics really are, they would not drive them.

Doesn't matter with key or screwdriver, no power to ign switch, no start.

Yep... C4 is great. I wish I could use it at work on some of the stuff I work on... but they won't let me

In my old 90 D21 pickup, I had my ign relay hooked up to the stereo so if the face wasn't on, it wouldn't start.

Wiking....No security system is fullproof....and eventually will bypassed or broken..But the common punk thief is looking for easy and quick to steal...If they see as they are trying to steal something that there is something put there to slow them down....chances are they are not going to spend the time to figure out why it will not start for fear of getting caught.....

A ignition cutoff is plenty of deterent for the common thief.....IMO.

on my friends old mustang he had this pretty neat little starter kill switch on it. it was a hidden switch, but then it went to a place where you had to have a special key lookin thing plugged in, then it would start. if the special key was out and the starter switch was on and you tried to hot wire or start the car the alarm went off. pretty cool setup. the key you unplugged then went onto his keychain when he left his car.

My old setup would be hilarious to see someone try and hot wire. Unless you actually ripped down the relay, and hooked the power wire onto it, it wouldn't start.

"easy to flip but hidden" eh?

On my 240SX I hollowed out the coils from the cigarette lighter and installed a pushbutton switch inside. The cigarette lighter hadn't worked in a few years anyway, so it was no big loss.

DO NOT run your ignition power though it, though. Use a relay. You don't want that kind of power in your console.

some of you guys really need to think more before posting.

Anything that requires opening the hood before driving is instantly a horrible idea. It is not practical, and opening your hood draws attention to yourself. Heck anything other than flipping a switch or two is impractical.

I've always loved the cigerette lighter idea, but the only downfall is it is easier for theives to check.

I would just do the fuel pump switch, it is easy. Hardest part is figuring out where you want the switch. Also consider an aftermarket alarm.

The one thing I was going to do with my car was grab a transponder from a 5th gen and then buy a blank key. Have Nissan program it and have it cut to the rest of my car then install it. IMHO it is the easiest/best way prevent people from starting your car. Not easiest in terms of installing, but in daily use it is because you dont have to bother with the switch every time.

Just put one in my car a few weeks ago. Since I leave the car at the airport for business, thought that would be a piece of mind there.
