Maxima 92 Problem

Hello everybody, I am new at this forum, and well I have a question, and I believe is related to the same issue, timing belt.

the car used to run great, but after the timing belt got change, it started stalling and doesn't go any further than 2000 RPM, at 55 MPH it stalls and sometimes dies. I reemplace the distributor cap and the inside rotor, and of course the belt and the fuel filter, any ideas that you might have? Thanks

Max

Try looking at the mass air flow sensor harness/plug ,make sure it is connected and in good shape...

If it looks good then i would replace the maf.....try a used one at a junkyard or check out the 3rd gen. for sale section.....http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=62

thats crazy...just last week i changed the timing belt too. while i was down there i found out my #3 injector was out. now the car runs perfect. all i need to do is change the bushings and ball joints. oh and i hear a knocking when i turn and go over small bumps while turning( but not when i go over a bump straight on tho), i think it could be the front sway bar but not absolutely sure....opinions please.....

I'd guess that saying is few hundreds yrs old... 4tune cook?

1860 local newspaper had 'scientist predict' that if development continues, Helsinki will be deep under horsesh1t after 100yrs. Well, hell sink in -did not happen. But those 'scientists' evoffspring still cont to get paid with similar **** predictions; www.junkscience.com ...and we PAY dearly.

max81 ..."after the timing belt got change, it started stalling and doesn't go any further than 2000 RPM"
- when some critical sensor fails, ECU drops to safe mode, =2.2k rpm limit. Could be MAF as grnmax says. Test the sensors: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/1 --->page 9
- distributor gnd not working, wire off (causes warped cam sensor pulse)
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/10

berncity1711 "...turn and go over small bumps while turning...opinions please....."
- somewhat off the thread issue?
- swaybar is typically affected also while driving straight. Worn lower arm bushing, ball joint?

Dude I just got my Maxima today, well yesterday from the shop. Would not go past 2000 RPMs it would just bounce off, got new timing belt, full tune up and some other stuff and the one thing that was messing it up was the MAF. The mechanic who changed it spent $140 on a rebuilt MAF with warranty just in case you need one

Could be bad sway bar links on the ends. The bushings on them crack and get hard with age, so replace those when you do the ball joints.

its alot of work but its worth it in the end. luckily my t-belt from my old '93 motor which is now in my '89 had cracked teeth but not missin' teeth. a little longer and that motor would have said BYE.

If changing a t-chain is anywhere near as hard as changing a thermostat is (I'm sure it's crazy hard) my hat is off to you. I had serious problems with the t-stat. Gave up and had the dealer do it.
