Manual trans question

Every other time I shift into 2nd gear the sticks pops out into neutral. So now I find my self frequently shifting from 1st to 3rd. All the other gears seem to work fine. Has anyone encounter this problem or have any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like the second gear sycro is gone or the gear itself.....It would be cheaper to replace it with a used one then to have it rebuilt....

Yeah, it's the synchro, had a problem on an accord w/ one of those once. Find a friend who can rebuild it cheap, or get a used one. You might ask shops what they would charge if you took the tranny out yourself and had them rebuild it.

i have a tranny that just needs an input shaft bearing from what i know or i also have the gears themselves from my first tranny that i'd gladly sell. you can pm if you're interested.

for bearings, seals, and such you can go to www.drivetrain.com and get them for a pretty decent price. gears/synchros might be harder to come by.

Like everyone else said, the synchro is probably bad, and you might be hurting the 3rd gear synchro by the 1st to 3rd shifts, so be careful with that.

...or... u dont need but gas.

1. Change oil, synthetic. Oil is always better than sticky blk vaseline.

2. Buy max wit A/T, cheaper than tranny..

3. Drive only with 3rd = Learn to live by it, theres abs no harm NOT uSing 2nd. The few sec while used in accel -keep it there-
