Hep! popping noise from 94 GXE

Recently I noticed some popping noise ("too, too, too...") coming from the left side inside the hood of my 94 GXE. At first, i thought it was my muffler, however, it is from the left front side thus it doesn't make sense. The noise only happened when I stepped on the gas and especially within the first few minutes when I started my car and at high speed as well.

Could that be due to the cheap gas I pumped in? The gas price is so darn high in MPLS, I finally decided to give up on 92 and went with 87. Two monthes later, here came my problem. If that could be the reason, then I will start using 92 again and hope it will go away.

Any opinion is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Is that serious???

How much will it cost to have it replaced or fixed? I don't drive my max very often, but it was shame to drive a popping car on the road. I like people's attention, but not in this way.

I'm not a VG guy but I've heard they are a pain. Partly that depends if it is on the front or the back. I was hoping someone else had an idea what your noise is.

which left side are you trying to explain,

the drivers side?

or the passenger side,

can you take picture of which side are you trying to explain,

or make audio sounds of the problem you are trying to explain,

Sorry about the confusion.

Yeah, it is from the driver side. Sounds like a bad muffler ("tootoo... tootoo... tootoo...) , but it is from the front side of my car instead of back side. It only happens within the first few minutes after I started my car, especially when I step on the gas really hard. If I accelerate slowly and gently, then the noise disappers. It gets louder and more constant on highway (65MPH-75 MPH), but faints out at low speed (35-40MPH) at local. I hope this might clear things up.

HOLY COW!

It is impossible for me to do something like that. I might just live with it if it is not causing other trouble but a noisy ride.

I forgot to ask. Is that a serious problem except some annoying noise?

- noxious fumes into cabin
- for long time and/or hard drive may cause the surfaces to deteroriate. Fixing price will become ? 6x.
- schedule the fixup. Before that, take u car somewhere who knows maxima to listen and make sure this is the cause...
