Ive noticed recently that the black trim behind the backseat triangular window right above the rear door handle has started to chip off. I know a few people who have 3rd gen. Maximas and they say theirs did the same. Is there any kind of recall on this? If not, has anyone else had that problem and what did u do to fix it? i dont want to have to spend $ but its getting to be a real eyesore to look at.

hasn't happened to mine, but if you really don't like it, paint it. just tape everything around it, get some semigloss krylon or rustoleum, and go to town. I'd get some primer too, even though rustoleum is self priming, just so that you have a more even layer for it to stick too.

sand it down, clean it up, and spray.

I have noticed that too on my car. I feel bad about it but instead of taping everything up and doing it complete, I am just going to buy some touch up paint and fill in the areas.
