Need swap help info

Hey guys, I have 2 3rd gens here, a 92 ve and a 91 vg. Now the 92 is black and body is in immaculate condition. The 91 is the dark red and not in bad but in ok shape, however the black is better and in better shape. Now my question is how much of the exterior from the 92 black ve could i swap onto the 91 red vg? ARe the bodies the same dimensions and if so could i swap everthing but the roof and pillars? And if i can swap all but that, how well can you paint those to look decent if at all, without going to an expensive shop? THanks guys

Is there something wrong with the VE? why salvage a VG at the expense of a nice VE?

all the exterior body parts are interchangeable. i recently had two doors and a fender pulled off my old max, painted, then transplanted onto my driver. the fit might not match exactly b/c you are using pieces from a different automobile, but you can make it work. cheapest way to go if you can pull the parts and reassemble yourself.

If you were looking to get one nice car out of the deal, I would suggest selling the VG for whatever you can get (maybe $1500? -- I don't know what condition it's in). Then you could take that money and buy a JDM VE engine for around $600-$900, then swap it in. You might have to come up with a little more (probably like another $800-$1,000) if someone else does the swapping.

Well I'm in college and have very limited funds as is, but the ve needs a new engine, water pump and clutch, so salvaging that is a bit pricey, i could drive my jeep around while the work would be done, but my jeep has no heat, defrost and leaks, its just a summer car, so I think I'll just drive the vg for now, its in pretty good shape...

an SE with a bad motor and a nice body? Seems like a perfect candidate for a JDM swap...
