manual tranny fluid change

Having a hard time finding a resource that points out the drain plug and where to fill it. I'm sure it's an easy one, anyone got a website or pic?

Drain plug is the fill plug as well, right?

Stoopid Haynes manual talks about pulling out the speedo cable. In fact, most of the Haynes manual stuff has nothing to do with the VE engine.

No that is only the fill hole...about 4 1/2 quarts of gl-4 gear oil..You can get the gl-4 at napa...

Im so use to autotragics.. Ever since I got my VE 5spd I never bothered to check the gear oil. Since theres no dipstick, Im left in the dark about my tranny, except for the fact that it seems to be operating normally There really isn't any way to check, is there..?

No you can't. Check the threads on this, there are VERY few GL-4 ONLY sources out there. I'm not going to get into the discussion on multi fluids but just spend the $$ and call Amsoil, and find a local dealer. Oh and if your going to own a car spend the few bucks and get a Haynes, or chilton manual. There are places to get the FSM "on the web". PM me and I might be able to find you a link to one.

actually, it was my find not that it really matters though. anyway, i think it's new at napa because a few months ago, i couldn't find gl-4 at napa or anywhere else for that matter. you would think it would be easier to come by. it's kind of scary to think what they would put in your case if you took it to a shop to get the oil changed. $10 says they would dump gl-5 in there.
