looking for thoughts on how to spice up interior (classy that is)

As I start to slow down on exterior work, I have been thinking of what to do next for the interior. Now, I know people are going to give me the "stay stock, it looks better then anything else," but I don't agree 100%. I am just looking to spice things up inside without looking cheap/ghetto or whatever else people would consider garbage. Serious answers here guys

I not even sure if anyone makes brushed metal stuff for the 3rd gen....

Well you could put some girls in the back seat, I don't know if you've tried that before

On a more serious note, the aluminum dash kit is pretty decent looking. Something small that I'm really fond of are the Chrome Gauge Rings, I think they look really classy.

2 words my friend.. NEON GREEN

but in reality i did small stuff that some may not like but some may who knows, minor in all accounts and staying stock. mounted UV LEDS in the grills (hidden) shining in on my front speakers (infinity so they kinda glow a lil bit) but that only is when the door is open. I never modified any other lights so you can only notice if you are looking for it.

Brushed aluminum accents might look ok if it is a good kit and covers the peices well, Could get a pimpin redline shift boot, one of those neat compass mirrors.

but really paint EVERYHITNG lime green... and baby blue

I would say add a little white into the inside of your car like make parts of the dashboard white to differentiate it from stock but don't do anything drastic because that would look cheesy

What does your interior currently looks like, is it stock? Recently I've also been contemplating re-doing my interior. I have an all black interior with a Joshua(sp?) wood kit, black leather seats, and after market auto shift know.

One thing I know for sure my black leather will be going. I have OEM leather and that sucker is has hard as the concrete outside and it's cracking. The only question is which color leather to replace it with. Will I go Katzkin or custom from a local shop. My exterior is white and I would prefer an interior color that doesn't bake in the sun. Currently I have no tints and I like it keep it that way.

Here are a few things that's been rolling in my mind

-The biggest thing I'll love to do is change it from a 4 door 5 passenger car to a 4 door 4 passenger car. If possible change out the rear bench for a bucket bench with two well defined and form fitting rear seats. Again probably custom
-Change out the front seats to something a little more supportive and form fitting without going with a racing seat. It needs to look OEM
-I'll probably keep my black dash and center counsel.
-Finding a real aluminum or carbon fiber kit is kinda hard now-a-days. Every kit appears to be that plastic carbon fiber or aluminum.
-Wrap all seating position with new leather
-Change out the carpet to match the new seat color
-New pedals, e-brake handle and boot
-And once again change out the auto shift ****
-Even though my headliner in currently in good shape I might feel bold and change that out especially if the current color doesn't match the new interior color.
-If you go the headliner route, you can try a differeent material (leather, tweed, plastic, etc.
-Door inserts to match the new leather

That's about it, but who knows

something that adds alot of "umf" are dimond plate floor mats. they work good with brushed aluminum accents. if you do any interior lighting do indirect vlighting it's a much cleaner look compared to when you can see the tubes

As photons hit a surface, most are reflected. Shiny look.

When polarized light (already once through reflector), photon reflection is limited to their hitting angle, cannot veer to any other angle and cannot thus create shiny look. What happens, the photons sink into the surface of the materiel. These photons get surface particles to radiate photons from themselves. Seems like the surface itself radiates.

This phenomena depends on surface properties, 'eats' lots of light source capacity (=wastes). But worth it. ...Typically home decoration uses these reflector parabolic lamps: especially flowers get shiny look.

Also gettin surface texture 'to jump out' is possible with surface aligned polarized light. Play with the bright leds reflecting via a mirror...

IMO i think classy means wood trim accents. and the blue and green neon/LEDs are considered hip or fashion. chrome rings is a good idea, but diamond floor plates makes it seem like the interior of a work truck - tough looking.
I think metal door sills like the cefiero ones on 4th gens would be a nice touch.

wood trim + chrome gauge rings + polished aluminum door sills would be somewhat classy, but from being in a 1st and 2nd gen altima, along with a 4th gen GXE, I really despise the wood trim thing, but that's my opinion. What I think is best for our 3rd gen is to try and darkened the atmosphere of the interior of the car, making it darker, while at the same time, something to create a warm classy feeling (ex. plush leather seat, chrome gauge rings, smoothing out the texture of the plastic pieces and paint them glossy super black, a piece of wood trim on the switch rail/plate, in car computer with a touch screen, and maybe, just maybe, some chrome on the door opener thingies, and almost forgot, black headliner, black sunroof switch assembly, low level red+orange LEDS lighting up the feet area(more of a glow)) (piano playing in the background of the lara croft mansion kind of atmostphere) Reason for that is our car tends to let alot of light in, and that takes away the luxury feeling, that is the main reason why I like driving my car at night, when everything is dark, only a few lights accenting here and there.

yea.. that's just about the picture i had in my mind. but the red and orange are just a little bit on the funky side. I'd keep the indirect lighting incandecent colored.

There's this rolls royce sedan that comes to my work place from time to time, and the interior is superb. so my idea of classy is based around those things.

agreed on the incandecent lighting, but what about reflected lighting? like aiming a hight powered LED upward, let it cast an over shadow onto the floor, kinda like mystique lighting if you know what I mean.

All lights ON for shw

Hmm. First time now got to count cabin ligtin:
- drivers door: UV 1pcs, handle 1pcs, buttons: win grn/lock yel 3pcs = 5pcs
- dash, 5pcs
- floors , 4pcs
- each pass door 3 x 2pcs
- mid UV console towards dash, 1pcs
...makes currently total 21 leds. But havent yet shown all on the vehicle, maybe someday. THat will be interesting.

All startEd from blown dash lightin, annoying to find out heater buttons in the dark.
- Time = dont watch TV or videos; first hobby is Bible, second is max...
- Work, what is that?
- Grant? No, leds are super dirt cheap = 1/100 price compared whats sold in car accessory shops, oldie vehicle. And nice to work in. Socialism keeps bread on kitchen table, cars rusty in the stable...
- Weird me? So say everybody in my boat, then maybe its true...
- Wassup hehre. Dunno really know, u tell me...
- Top Of Stupidity?: yesterday wrapped (original) muffler with special metal sheet (nothin to d with leds)

Hmm. Editing .org problems, must add new msg...

A classy enviro means a chance for total silence [add music only on total silence, get hi-fi]. First thing I do, is sound proofing. Read the page: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/17

Once I insulated a 5gen, very pr in this issue. Its all leather interior, after insulation project, produced echoes: dont sneeze, dont move - everyone in the car 'hears your breathing' at 60mph... 3gen is more noisy, reason maybe this support bar in the pic. So if u someday have dash open, first wrap this bar under some cloth or whatever is available (bare metal is bad). Learned the 5gen hard way: In airbag car, take batt out 30mins before rippin things out.

You have been watching PIMP MY RIDE huh... J/K no those are good ideas. To be honest i have never seen any car/ truck before that had suede accents that didn't look real sharp!!

Rerap your A, B C pillers with a suede and re cover the back deck lid it would look good and it's not that hard. just have to be careful with your cuts

Nah, those ideas are from the times i spent driving BMWs (used to have one), plus, some came from the top of my head. For my car, I ripped all the pillar lining off and just left the pillar in it's plastic stage, I really like a clean interior with somewhat of in industrialized theme, none of that home cozyness feelings . and i seriously think pimp my ride is for people who doesn't know any better, for half the stuff that they shows are just plain unnecessary, my priority list goes like this : Mechanically sound, suspension, brakes, power adders, then finally the "look".
