help with y-pipe studs

help with y-pipe studs

i was when i switched my y-pipe studs, i broke a couple, how do i get them outta there?????

You are going to have to drill and easy out the remaining pieces of studs that is still in there..Good luck with that..[PITA]

You might want find some used manifolds to put on there....

or mill them straight, give your engine a good cleaning up while you're in there. Oh, take lots of pictures too, we need a good pictorial how to. Good luck.

Man, I'm glad I didn't have this problem when I replaced my Y pipe. Guess I was lucky.

the thing is that when i replaced my y-pipe, they didnt break...i had the studs, but i forgot about them...now i tried to get them off, and they broke!!!!

cut the studs flat against the flange. then just drill them out (make holes where the studs were). then just use a longer bolt and a nut. that will clamp the y-pipe to the exhaust manifold just fine. it's a tad shadetree, but it works just as well.

I did the same. I thought my dad did all 3 in the back but he only did 2, and its leaking like a mother, so I have to do the third. And 1 in the front, but the front isnt leaking so I can do that later... but yea a nut and bot works great. But using PB blaster in the first place is the best.
