Exhaust Stud removal....

The guy at the muffler shop explained that I could remove studs without drilling them, as long as they weren't already broken. Does anyone know how to do this?

Um use Vice grips or a tool that's designed to grip studs.

Use two nuts and tighten them agains each other (ie.. jam nuts). Then you should be able to unscrew the stud. Works sometimes.

Yup, that's how I got out the 4 non-broken studs I had when I did my rear manifold. Go slow and steady, don't "jerk" them loose, and use tons and tons of Liquid Wrench.

Most tool places will have it. If not, Sears is a good place.
