INstalling a transmission cooler?

My last transmission went out a week after gtting the car at 140k miles... had it rebuilt, but worried about it doing the same. It since has 40k on it in the last 2 yrs, and I would like to keep it going alot longer than original if possible.

Anyone have a write-up on adding a transmission cooler, and know if it's ok to change the transmission oil after 40k? I know flushing could ruin things, but I don't want it to die in the next year or so... I'm not to rough with it, but it's veyr expensive to replace-
