My first impulse was to tell you no b/c on car with that many miles, you $600 could quickly triple as you start shelling out to fix it.
But, after thinking about it, I am going with probably not instead of just no as it depends on the condition of the car. If it needs a computer, then it is probably b/c the heater core went out. If that hasn't been fixed yet, then you are looking at a lot of labor. 234k miles is a lot. Is it still on the original tranny? What kind of compression is the engine making....

That is a good deal for what they usually call a "mechanic's special" but unless you are mechanically inclined, have a garage, tools and enjoy fixing cars, I would probably say "pass."
A car with that many miles with an unknown history sounds like a recipe for a lot of potential problems.

1) It's a VG auto
2) Needs a T-belt and water pump in a few miles
3) Our ECU's don't die that often so why did it go?
4) It's a VG auto
If you're wondering why I hate VG auto's it's because I've been through 3 of them. So if you are lookin for this car to be relieble for a few years think again as unless you drive like Miss Daisy you're gonna be lookin at a new tranny in no time.

and for the value of the other GXE, $50 max. that's all I'd pay, especially when I see lower mileage running ones in sub $1k range quite often
