Fuel Pump Replacement

Well it turned out I didn't have a good ground, I tested for power again, and its getting there, so I guess at 214k miles it decided it had enough. Now my question is, can I use one from a VG? I have 2 spare VG parts cars at the moment with much lower miles I would like to use.

Thanks in Advance!

They are listed as different parts..Pretty sure the psi rates are different...the oem part #'s are as follows..

DOHC- 17042-96E10

SOHC- 17042-85E00

another case of I'd use a VE part in a VG, but not vice versa

the FPR can bring down too high of a fuel pressure but it can't bring up too low of pressure

I have a VE fuel pump around. Let me know and I'll match the numbers to make sure I'd be sending the VE pump, I've got 2-3 fuel pumps. Make me an offer.

How many miles on it? I was thinking of just buying new as I can get a service garage's discount.

if you cant get a oem one cheap.. you might want to look into just getting a holley/walbro 255... you can make kit for almost any car fit on a maxima, and often you can pickup brand new ones for under $100. Its easy to make it work with just minor fabrications skill. mine was for some mid 80s gm. and my buddys was for a mid 90s mustang. just a thought....

geoff, Given the pumps are relatively cheap like indicated, and you can utilize a discount, I'd just go that way. Any of my pumps will have over 100k miles.
