Vans...I recommend you do not try this swap...You need to be very experienced to do this swap...Ther are sooooo many different things you need to change on your car to make this work...Everything from the motor/tranny/the entire engine wiring harness/ecu/driveshafts/hubs to match the driveshafts/y pipe/etc/etc/etc...

Sorry dude i am not trying to own you or be mean but IMO this is way over your head for your mechanical experience....Just get a used/rebuilt tranny and be done with this...

the VE 5 speed is a relativly easy swap, the only difference from a regular auto --> 5 speed swap is you also need to change out the steering knuckle's and the half shafts, i wouldnt even TRY to do it with a VE auto.... oh and if you are doing a 5 speed swap, you take out the TCU and you will need to get a VG 5speed ecu, or at least it is prefered anyway

The motor mounts are the same, as are the trans mounts (assuming auto to auto, or mt to mt). The trans plugs (speed sensor (& neutral sensor for mt)) are different, but the wires are the same making the plugs/harnesses easy to swap over. Obviously, you must use the VE axles and spidle/hub assembly. Other than that, yes it bolts right. As far as the TCU, I have no idea as I have only done this swap on the VG manual to VE manual.

The VE flywheel has an 8 bolt flange. The VG has a 6 bolt flange. The VE M/T starter is the same a a VG. The VE A/T starter is different.

torque converter is for auto only, so if you are going to a VE manual you dont need the torque converter. I am kinda lost throguh the posts thoguh becasue yesterday it was about swapping the whole motor assembly.

according to the post above you need a VG flywheel and cannot use the VE flywheel as it will not bolt up.

I agree. All these posts have confused what the original question was. "Will a VE trans fit a VG engine?"

FIRST: Vans, you need to clarify your question. Do you have a VG with a/t or m/t? SECOND: Vans, are you wanting to replace the tranny with an a/t or m/t? This will help everyone, unless you're just trying to get a general answer? I'm not sure if there have been some discussions off thread or what, but people have posted with answers unrelated to the question and complicating something that is very simple and straight forward.

Vans, you need to provide the information to help us help you! I didn't understand your question to be asking about a VG versus VE swap. Nor did I understand some answers to be telling you to swap a VE flywheel onto a VG, you are confused as are many others trying to respond. Please clarify so we can differentiate between the information you need and what you don't need.

well i did try and change the topic.. i have a VG auto tranny....for right now i am gonna put in a VE auto tranny (just for the winter) so basically what do i need from the VE parts car???????
i need the VE flywheel right????? the VE starter....the VE speed sensor.....and no tranny mounts correct????

the posts earlier were about me swapping out my VG motor and puting in a VE..but when i am up to that..then i will do it later........

so do i need the VE torque converter??????? or the linkage from the auto shift **** to fit the VE tranny????

sorry for the confusion
