Carquest offically SUCKS A$$!!!

From a previous thread you might remember I replaced my Axles and had a grinding noise seemingly comming from both ends of the drivers side axle, so I sent it back and tried one for a VG, thinking that they also had their part #'s reversed. Well the one for the VG dosent fit either end!!! The splines for the wheel side dosen't even contact the splines in the bearing and the spline count on the tranny side is not the same as the tranny either!!!

WHO OUT THERE HAS A DRIVERS SIDE AXLE FOR SALE?!?!?!?!?!????

Internetauto parts here I come!!!

http://www.oreillyauto.com/B2C/vehicle.ecatalog

All the O'Reilly's in the Dallas area told me about a year ago that they dont stock VE 5spd axles anymore, cant order them, and dont even have an option in their computer to try to find em

CyMax.. why didnt you just get your original rebuilt from a driveshaft place? After I couldnt find any, that's what I did. They did it same day for $50 even

Thats strange...the carquest here > * as far as I am concerned. Then again they have seasoned old timers that know what they are doing (my uncle is one of them). I have gotten him to get me axles for my auto (both) and 5sd VE (drivers) and havent had a single problem. They have a bunch of different models so the parts guy probably just got the wrong one.

Of course I like the carquest here mainly because they are my PPG dealer but i have gotten parts from them (the axles I mentioned plus many more).

Good luck finding the right axle.

I think you hit the nail on the head there...I have a auto value parts place here with older seasoned guys working there and you can really tell the difference from the idiotzone/advance auto kids that are behind the counter..These guys KNOW what they are doing...

you just have to hope the old guy care enough to look up the right thing.
Sorry, I've been around too long and watched too many of them get sloppy because it's for a "furrin'" car.
The VE is just a tough car to get correct parts for because the cataloging used by them is inaccurate.

I wish I could, but it was turned in 2 axles ago as the Core, through a friend useing his shop discount. By now it's in another state being torn down for rebuild.
