Rear Window not working?

My rear window is not working at all. I can not control from the driver (master control panel) side or the single switch at the back where the window is. I did not hear any noise so what could it be? I have no problem operating other three windows either from the driver master control or at the door where the window is.
My guess the problem lies in the area of 1) Ellectrical issue 2) the motor and 3) regulator. How can I figure which one is the bad one.
Thanks.

a test light at the motor harness will tell you whether or not power is getting there.

Get a master switch from the junk yard for 10 or 15 bucks and go from there.

Ok. Replaced the main control with one from the junkyard ($17.50). It still did not work. Open up the side pannel and notice the wire harness is not connected. The stupid mechanic whos worked on it before did not connect it when putting it back. It took me over 3 years before I noticed it this week.

Ha! Exactly why no ig'nant @$$ mechanic works on my car! I would rather spend the time learning how to do a repair and do it myself!

you wasted $17.50 because you didn't follow basic diagnostics.

Ok Ive got a window problem here, thought Id hijack this topic. The rear drivers (RHD!) window goes down by itself. It goes up and down ok, so its not the regulator, but randomly winds itself down when driving. I can stop it by locking the windows, and put it up with the master when it goes down. I was thinking faulty switch, but not sure if its rear or master. Thoughts?

You are heading in the right direction. It must be a problem with the switch or switches . The master or the one at the window is the question here.
If you got time just switch out the switch from Driver rear window to the Passenger rear window. If that still happens then it must be the master switch. Other way is buy both the master and a single window switches from a junk yard and replace both.

I had the same strange thing happen after the master control got wet (because I've had the door panel off and the switches are laying in the door well, so they got rained on). It happened a few times, rear driver side window would slowly go down on its own, and not go up again. When the switch dried, the window would work again.

So for me, it was caused by the master switch getting shorted out.

Just go to a yard and get yourself a master controller (the series of buttons on your driver side door). Mines got wet and whole hell broke loose. Windows wound stay down... and the controller itself was extremely hot.

Opened up the door and had a look at the rear switch, the button and circuitry looks ok. Will have to look at master when I get time.
