92 SE Gauge Cluster on 92 GXE?
We all know Maximas have mad top speeds, even the stock GXEs;
GXE top speed on speedometer is 125; I have been this fast and decided not to break the needle by pushing it any farther...and that was a year ago when it my car was still stock.
With this being said, will the 92-94 SE gauge cluster work, accurately, on the 3rd gen GXE (mine is a 92, a second phase/3rd gen)?
It's also really cool to have that "145" sitting there like I'm actually going to be ballsy enough to hit that someday...
AND much easier to find glow gauges for; I went through hell just to find my GXE Reverse EL Glow gauges!

yes they will work they're interchangable. This question should be in the sticky or something by now. Do you have pics of the reverse el glow gauges? Good luck finding the 145 cluster though I haven't seen too many at junkyards.

They are beautiful; I found them about a year ago on ebay; that was the first mod I did to the car, actually. I'm having trouble locating more of the same kind when I look out of curiousity, but there is another reverse el glow gauge for sale on ebay.
Just search for: maxima gauges 125 89

Anyhow, I'll have to get ahold of you within the next few months about that gauge cluster; I'm not working on my car unless it's broke in the 20 degree weather, although there are those random 60 degree days that come here and there; how much are you asking for them and what do they look like at night normally?
The stock GXE gauges get really old fast with that whole green/orange on black look.

actually, here is the http for them. exactly as shown.
you can actually change that "greenish" tint to a "bluish" tint with the flip of a control switch attached. i liked the blue, but you can hear the frequency of that color (a high pitch) so i switched to the green because it matches the clock better anyway.

they have white faces during the day, then the letters and needles light up white at night, then you really can't see the white faces in the dark, they look REAL awsome for being stock guages

so they are, technically, reverse glow because at night, the letters light up and the white doesnt reflect light, making it actually look black?
thats how my el glows work, but they are green/blue/red
i just like having the infidels sit in the car and see that "145" and then they realize that maximas are no joke.

hows that working out? i saw someone selling one on ebay and he said that a lot of them had problems, but he wouldnt sell it unless i had a broken digital speedometer to give him to fix and make money off of.
saw the draft of it in the owners manual; looked pretty cool...

Its working out very well... just one time when i star the car, it doesnt turn on (the speedo) but i drove a block and works again...thats the only problem that i have ever had... IMO looks better than the analog, oh and btw i love the digital tach!
