357 miles on 1 tank of gas

ok when I got my car and drove it home I had said that I thought that I had gotten 400 miles on 1 tank of gas. well no one beleved me and honestly I really didnt beleve it. I had filled up 1/2 way into one tank and I thought that the gauge was just off. well I filled up my car a little over a week ago, I even spilled a little gas on the car because I filled it all the way up. well I never put in anymore gas and my gauge was between E and 1/4 a tank and I decided I should get some more gas. I always set my trip when I get gas and I had gone 357 miles on that one tank of gas. keep in mind I did all highway driving -3 miles each day for me to get onto the highway to get to work.

I just wanted to post on here and let everyone know that I wasnt crazy and I can get almost 400 miles on 1 tank of gas.

wow I just got 180 out of just over 1/2 a tank. I need to top it off though and run it dry and do a real test.

It's very doable. I always get at least 320 miles from a tank.

I can still do over 400 miles if it's highway.

I never said that it isn't believable. I have gotten 400 miles from a tank, all freeway driving. I also have a bit of a lead foot, so it's tough to drive perfectly for that long a distance.

I have averaged out very close to 30 mpg before (I think it was 29.7 or something), so it might even be possible to go to 500 miles on a tank, but I definitely wouldn't try cutting it that close. It has an 18.5 gallon fuel tank, so even if you get 23 mpg, you can go 400 miles.

The most I've driven without filling up is 438 miles. I filled up 16.8 gallons at that time.

i seem to get last gas mileage, does the oil level have to do with it? I recently changed oil and I get worse mileage then before. Could it be bit over filled? i know the the oil is just above the H on dipstick. Could that cause me to get 260 compared to 345? Or is it cold temps?

I fill up pretty much exactly once a week

I consistently average 340-360 miles (virtually all city) to a tank, so why anybody would fail to believe you could do 400 to a tank is beyond me

But anyways, yeah, a properly running VE 5spd can get very good gas mileage. I think the worst I've gotten all year was 21 mpg.. and that was right after my buddy got a new GT and I did a buttload of pwning his p00r driVinG skilLz y0
