Adding alarm Blinking red light
My 91 max came with afactory alarm system installed. How do I add in a red blinking lights when the car armed. I know the parts list of what to get. I just do not know where should I tap into the existing wire alarm system. If that is not possible I do not mind if I am able to wire up to when the inition key is turned off the blinking light will turn on and vice versa.
Thanks

I'll be honest with you. the factory alarm sucks. If you want to have a blinking red light in there, you obviously have something worth stealing and should get an aftermarket system. The old one is very idiot proof, and anyone can get around it.
Search the site for more on the alarm system 'setbacks'

I looked in Craigpage's the Howto section and the 'Adding an LED in the stock alarm light (Michael Hudnell)' shows everything except it does not really show where is the connection from the new light to the existing wire source. That is the information I need. Still looking for a solution.

They place I would put it is in part of the front defrost trim, there is a bubble there that looks sorta like an led, but i think it was meant for an auto CC sensor or something...that where I would put it

Does the light for the stock alarm blink when you turn the car off and let it sit ?
If so Then you could just tap into those wires to run a new light up to the defroster vent.
I am going to do this soon will this work? (I am putting mine in the defrost vent)

My write up was for putting an aftermarket alarm LED in the factory "security" light place. I am one for subtle things so I thought it would be neat to have the security light blinking instead of a red light on the steering column or wherever.
The reason there is no info on hooking it up is because I assume if you have an aftermarket alarm you know where the LED goes to it. Again its not for the factory alarm.
Good luck with it...you may email Craig because I think he was working on something like you are talking about.
