You can take two 4X4 blocks about 1 and 1/2 feet long and put them on the strut towers. Get a 4 foot pece of tubing about 3 inch by 3 inch squared and 1/8 thick wall. Put it on top of the 4X4 blocks across the motor. Jack up the motor and put a chain on one end of the motor. Then around the the tubing and to the other side of the motor. Then you can lower the motor and unbolt the crossmember.

It takes a couple of hours to do the labor on them... I'll do them for $100, including return shipping to anywhere in the states. (that's exchange. I don't have any cores available, so you have to send me one to fix first.)
and yes, this is pretty common for those of us that drive the cars hard..
Also, both VG and VE are the same crossmember. all 89-94 are same so just get whatever they have at a junkyard.

i am no expert but is that a jack stand under the oil pan? and GOON did i read you right you jack your car under the oil pan? I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that's not the best place to jack a car by or support it by either. Just thought I'd through my 2 cents out

Nah.. I've repaired both mine and Jayson's (the pics above) and then reinforced them. just weld the thing back together and then grind the high spots down and weld a piece of plate steel on top of the weakest points. 2 hrs later, clean and paint and it's done.

MattComet was telling me about this when we were installing my new tranny yesterday.
Crap, I am getting a little tired of breaking everything on these cars just by adding a few power mods.![laugh](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/laugh.gif)
Good thing Blehm is around to beef things up for us...
