89 Max not running!!! Help!!!

Ok here is what I did. I had a gas leak on the fuel rail at one of the crossovers. I broke the top end of the motor down and took the lower intake off to clean it and also due to the fact that the gasket kit I bought had a new copper gasket for it. Well I put it all back together according to the Chiltons man. I can not get the car to run. I broke a tip off of three of the injectors when I stepped on it. I went to the junk yard (money was an issue) and pulled 3 injectors from another Max. My Max had BLUE injectors so I got the same from this Max. The hole at the end of the three that I got from the juckyard were smaller then the ones that came of of my car. When I put it all back together I set TDC and reset the dist. and installed it and got the car to run and timed it and drove it and got to where I was going and came out the next day and it would not start? Please help!! I replaced all gaskets and cleaned everything that came out of the car very well... And I tourqued the bolts as the manuel stated.

Yeah, to find out if it is fuel related, spray some starting fluid into the intake manifold, and try. If it doesn't start for a second, then you know it is spark related. Make sure to check all of the vacume lines as well. Good luck

I have replaced all of the vacume lines, I checked and tested the coil and power transistor. I will check the fuel pump to see if it has any problems. I guess where I'm confused is I drove the car to a friends and stayed there for a couple of hours and then came out to start it and it took 3 tries for it to turn over and once it did it ran great went home and next day no go.

thats wierd...the part where you say my injectors were smaller scares me...even though you got the blue dots .... it sounds like a spark issue almost. If it was fuel related it wouldnt be runing mint to your buddys house. Most No starts on a VG maxima are even slightest damaged distributor caps. Check it again and report here....very hard to trouble shoot with such limited info. Id be looking at at a compression test, then a leakdown, then a spark check and examine cap, then a ether test of of fuel or a fuel presure system test.

good luck

UPDATE!!! Ok I'm able to get the car to start but it takes some time.. I have fuel. I was talking to a friend that works at a shop and he said that it could be a vacume leak... The only one that I can thin kof would be from the AAC valve as I took it off to clean it and maybe I messed something up with it?

did you get a new gasket for it since you took it apart???? if not there may be your problem... spray some air intake/throttle body cleaner aroud and see if your RPM's jump up.. if so there is your leak!
