I was going to take my muffler to the shop to get it welded on tomarrow, and my friend brought up something. He says that I can get clamps or something and clamp my exhaust muffler to the existing exhaust piping since my install looks like htis:

muffler -> 2.5" to stock piping -> stock piping

I just clamp where where ther are "->"s...will this work? or do ineed to weld?

anything is possable! if the shop can't do it, run don't walk out of there, they are obviousely suspect. you can make a better exhaust than they ever could with coke cans and duct tape
