Well since you already bought the thing. It won't really do anything unless you use it. Eventually it might save you $ by not having to replace the paper one. But changing your driving habits will make a much bigger diff in mileage than a filter will. Unless your paper one was 99% clogged or something.

Actually, I'll say pumping up your tires 3-5lbs more with air (free!) will make a bigger diff in mileage than that filter.

to be honest it didn't do crap in performance when I had the K&N panel filter in there. Gas milage is pretty much dependant on your driving habit as Jeff pointed out. The only good thing about the K&N is that you can clean and reuse it.

You can buy the ebay CAI and replace the crappy filter you get with a K&N. If you are really nice and have some extra money, Jeff might be willing to make and sell you one.

Jeff is right about the mpg. The best way to increase mpg is to drive carefully, have the right amount of air in your tires and keep your car running well.

I routinely get 28-30 mpg in my Maxima on the freeway, mostly because I use the cruise control and don't use the brakes or accelerator unless I have to.
